The Elizabeth Residence was built for a family that values their privacy along with natural light. After entering past a custom water feature pouring from a concrete wall the heart of the house opens to a center courtyard visible from the 25′ long 10′ tall glass window wall in the living room. The courtyard is the house’s primary garden for kids and the covered deck acts as the outdoor kitchen.
The house’s open living room and kitchen area also functions to separate the private spaces in the rear of the house from the public office and guest room. The orientation takes advantage of the shade canopy which includes a beautiful heritage oak. In contrast with the urban surroundings of restaurants and shops the house is a peaceful retreat for the owners to relax and raise their family.
